Voi-la'

Took less than 3 hours after the nest boxes went in...

Threatening Chickens

I threatened the chickens this week.

I took the advice of a nice lady I met at a hops picking session last weekend. She's a Traverse City native who lives in the jungle of Costa Rica. She lives off her farm including roasting her own coffee and grinding her own chocolate so I figured she must know what she's talking about.

So I told them if we didn't see any eggs soon, we'd be eating chicken soup for dinner all winter long.

Joel is building egg boxes as we speak. So we'll see....

New Addition

Everyone meet Perle. She should be joining our family sometime in Mid June. She is a Great Pyrenees and we are excited to have yet another girl in our house. Adeline, me, Perle, Guinness, 27 chickens and 2500 hops plants; all girls.

EASTER EGGS!

Today we took Adeline to her very first Easter Egg Hunt. It was a huge event. More than 17000 eggs spread over three fields all nicely divided by age so that our 0-3 didn't get trampled by someone else's 7-12.

The (much needed) rain held off until after all the eggs were collected and Adeline had a good time. It took her a few moments to realize what the idea was but then she took off like a shot bypassing less than stellar egg choices for the ones that obviously held superior candy. (I have no idea why she skipped some and went for others.) But she had a great time and so did Joel and I.

Holding Emilee's hand.

It's windy out here mommy!

When does this show get on the road?

This yellow one will do nicely.....

We went outside today and played in the snow.  Adeline doesn't like putting all her snow gear on and she definitely resembles Ralphie's little brother "I can't put my arms down!"  However once you get her outside she has a lot of fun in the snow.  We got about 4" of fresh fluffy stuff to play in this morning.  And yeah... she really enjoys making snow angels.
